Cole's Arthur Daley is easily the best "Wheeler Dealer" ever created, anywhere on television. Although Del Boy in "Only Fools Waterman as Terry is perfectly legit in the role as he sympathetic hardman and the fact that he doesn't get lost under the giant shadow of Cole's tour de force is a testiment to Watermans skills as an actor.
Terry gets a job minding a Greek restaurant after saving a relation of the owner from being beaten up. Monday Night Fever. Arthur falls for a club singer, and promises to put her in the big time, but falls foul of an unscrupulous club owner. When Terry refuses to help, Arthur turns to a couple of vicious crooks. You Gotta Have Friends. When some barer bonds go missing from big time gangster Bobby Altman, the courier Billy Gilpin is suspect. He later turns up at Arthur's house wanting to get out of town.
So Terry drives him to a hotel in Brighton. When Altman finds out , he suspects Arthur of being involved and takes him for a run to get at the truth. The Smaller They Are. Scotch Harry arrives from the airport where he has been looking for easy pickings. He has struck lucky by stealing a suitcase full of banknotes, but unknown to him they are forged. Arthur hides him, until he can come to some agreement with the rightful owner.
The Bounty Hunter. Terry and Arthur help out a young widow who has been swindled out of her savings. Terry guards a group of people that Maurice the gambler has put together to win at roulette. When the casino start to protest, Terry hides them out at his flat, but this upsets his girlfriend Penny, who has taken the week off to be with him. Terry trains Willie a boxer on the comeback trail, but it becomes apparent that he is not taking the fight seriously.
The promoter wants Willie to lose and has had a large bet on the other boxer. Terry shames Willie into training properly but the outcome is in the balance right up to the last round. The Long Ride Back to Scratchwood. Arthur and Terry get involved in a scam to sell football tickets to fans, for the clash between England and Scotland. But the scheme doesn't go to plan.
Goodbye Sailor. Arthur is involved in a deal to buy some dodgy tobacco from a sailor Commander Hawksley so he sends Terry and Arnie down to the South Coast to complete the deal only to find that the tobacco has to be smuggled ashore from a French boat. When Arthur turns up all three and Commander Hawksley go out to sea to pick up the goods but when Terry finds out what is happening, and then the police turn up they dump the tobacco in the sea.
The Balance of Power. When Arthur's car lot is compulsory purchased by the council, he decides to run as an independent candidate in the local bi-election for a seat on the council. Terry and a local reporter help out, but just as he is about to win, the opposition want him barred for overspending during his campaign.
The Second Time Around. When an old author friend of Arthur's comes back to town to write a book,and sell her house. When she learns that her ex husband has sold the house without her permission, she hires Terry, and a secretary to help with ideas, and Arthur to help get the money from her husband. What Makes Shamy Run. Arthur is looking for Shamy,an Indian emigrant who owes him money.
Shamy pays him in counterfeit money, which Arthur doesn't notice,until Dave at the Winchester draws his attention to them Later Shamy steals a master video tape and with Terry's help, flies off to India, to sell it.
Second Hand Pose. When due to mix up ,Terry is left in a large industrial meat freezer, he decides to go his own way, and gets work helping out an old friend who is in the second hand furniture business. A Number of Old Wives' Tales. Arthur gets involved with Clive Cosgrove, who has several businesses which are all run by women but it turns out that he is married to all of them. Looking For Mickey. Mickey Dixon breaks out of jail in order to publicise his innocence, Terry looks after him while the press try and hunt him down.
Broken Arrow. Arthur finds a potential darts champion playing for peanuts in a local pub, and enters him in a local competition, but his man is nobbled, but Arthur has seen enough to organize his own tournament.
Rembrandt Doesn't Live Here Anymore. When Arthur finds an artist who can turn out work as good as the originals, he thinks that he can make money, until a crooked art dealer tries to cut in on him. Terry house sits for a rock star who has gone on tour, but it turns out that the star is broke and the bailiffs turn up to take the furniture away. You Need Hands. Terry Gives Des a hand collecting a dept but gets his hand broken in a fight just when Arthur has a special job lined up so he has to hire another minder but unknown to Arthur the job involves drugs So Terry and Des come to the rescue.

Unfortunately Varrow is in debt to the local bookie, and the father of his latest conquest is also looking for him to talk about the little matter of sleeping with his daughter. Not a Bad Lad, Dad. An old friend of Terry's has left her son at Terry's house, while she sorts her life out.

S10, Ep Arthur's former employee Cranky Frankie Connor escapes from prison and takes Arthur hostage, demanding to know if his wife Rosie is having an affair with Italian restaurateur Luigi, who has just opened his Mafia-themed eatery Cosa Noshtra. Arthur persuades Frankie to go with him to the Winchester club to discuss things with Rosie but she calls the police and Arthur ends up getting arrested for sheltering an escaped prisoner.
